Excitement is growing on the Mendocino Coast as we look forward to the Mendocino Magic 50 and 25 mile Endurance Rides to be held at Simcha, over the July 4th weekend. Many of you have ridden on Harvey's and my ranch, with views over the Pacific ocean to forever, and trails up into redwood forests and coastal mountains which will give contestants a real challenge to complete all in one day. Cynthia Ariosta, a familiar face at RRR for six years, and her partner Forrest Tancer are pulling out all the stops for a great weekend. They are expecting 100 horses and riders, and Ricochet Ridge Ranch is pleased to mention that some of our own equine athletic stars can be counted in that number. Look out for news of your favorite mounts: Zanzibar, Voltaire, Nitecap, Gamay, and, of course, the spunky Indiana Jones. Can you imagine that huge number of horses actually racing the same trails you rode with us? Exhilarating! We have a great summer team ready to take folks on their next horseback adventure exploring our magnificent Redwood forests, riding through the surf on deserted Ten Mile Beach, and meandering through a vast cattle ranch with breath-taking views over the Pacific Ocean. Our super horses are fit and ready to take to the trails - either on an adventurous or easy-going trail, English or Western style. We have recently hosted guests from Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province of China. Yang, Jianhong and Zhang, Guanghong (last names come first..) spent four days with their new best friends Nature's Ricochet, Nature's Maleka, and trailguide Elicia Kamberg checking out all that Ricochet Ridge Ranch and the Mendocino coast has to offer, joining the May Redwood Coast Riding Vacation for some of their rides and dinners. They left with many smiles, photographs, and promises to see us soon. We still have a few spaces on our Equine, Wine, and Song Week in July - check it out on our website. This October, 4th - 10th, 2010, we have something a little different for our season finale Redwood Coast Riding Vacation. We are proud to be joined by physician and horse-rider, Dr. James Biskup and his exuberant wife, Geri. Cowboy Dr. Jim will be giving us all tips on how we can use riding to enhance our health, and maintain a youthful spring in our steps. You have heard the phrase "The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man"... Why not come learn how to apply this for yourself? Dr. Biskup is an "anti-aging" specialist, with many practical and exotic suggestions for how to enhance the quality of your longer, more vibrant life. It's bound to be a unique week. We have many options available for those who can’t make it to one of our premier "Redwood Coast Riding Vacations" this year. Don’t worry – you can still join us for spectacular riding in our ruggedly beautiful surroundings. Take a look below to see what might tickle your fancy...
